RT Sheet Music

Our Reader's Versions of Traditional Notation (RT) places notes
on the traditional Grand Staff with rhythm in a timeline format.
Our shorthand for this notation is RT which is stands for
"Readers version of the grand staff on a Timeline."

You will find links to the RT collections at the bottom of this page.

The sheet music in this series shows pitch on the GRAND STAFF but shows the rhythm on a TIMELINE, as on the key maps. The music is oriented horizontally as in traditional notation. The notes for naturals, sharps and flats are color highlighted for ease of reading.

The colored highlights on the notes for the sharped and flatted keys in the reader's version solves a serious reading problem for beginning and intermediate keyboard players. Learning to read music that uses the sharp and flat codes is a long and laborious process, literally taking years of study for mastery. (These standard codes are called Key Signatures.) Serious students must learn to read these codes by undertaking this long period of study.

The colored highlights have the advantage of opening the doors to many wonderful pieces of music that are difficult or impossible to play until these key signature codes have been learned. The highlights make these pieces playable for students at a much earlier time in their studies. They also open the doors for large numbers of people who can read music, but can't or don't yet know how to read the sharp/flat codes.

The Colored Highlights -  The the natural notes are GRAY. The sharped notes (#) are YELLOW. The flatted notes (b) are GREEN.
